DDChanger is used to change the installed disk device drivers in Windows. The program installs drivers in an offline (not running) Windows installation. This feature makes easy P2V, V2P, P2P, V2V conversion/migration possible! You can install almost any SCSI/FC/RAID driver into your Windows installation. The new version of DDChanger can add the newest 4GB FibreChannel adapters from QLogic to enable for example "boot from SAN" DDChanger can also migrate your existing servers to VMware ESX / VMware GSX Server or Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 (P2V) and back againg using V2P.
Example of usage: Physical to Physical Machine Migration is easy with DDChanger! DDChanger can activate over 100 SCSI / RAID adapters in Windows 2000 and Windows 2003. For a list of adapters that can be activated see the FAQ. This can be very useful when changing server hardware platform. For example, when going from Dell servers with Perc controllers to IBM servers with ServeRAID controllers. Or to new Server Blades (Blade Servers) Migration steps: 1. Boot up both servers with BartPE or WinPE 2. Run Ghost or Acronis or another disk imaging product to transfer the source server to the new target server. 3. Run DDChanger and select "Activate SCSI/RAID adapters (Win2000/Win2003) on the new target server. 4. Reboot the target server 5. Cleanup and install drivers for other hardware installed in the new server (most will be found via Plug'n'Play) 6. Done |
